Being a tube amp fanatic, you’d assume I’d steer towards germanium fuzz pedals over their “colder” silicon siblings. You’d be right. However, after experiencing firsthand how non-gig/show-worthy they can be in extreme climates (for example….. playing outside in the summer OR practicing in an unheated warehouse in the winter….), I had had enough. No more, step-on-the-pedal-to-feel-alive-but-instead-it-sounds-like-a-fart-and-the-moment-is-gone vibes. No. I won’t do it. I got out the breadboard and some silicon BC108 transistors. I messed with a few ideas until I found one I liked. Alas, a warmer but grittier fuzz that can be played in the sun, snow, or basement of your choice.

All CHOCOLATE FUZZ pedals are drilled, designed, adorned, built, soldered, and tested by Matt Manhire.
